Hi again Everyone! PJ here. Thank you for all of the support and encouragement with my dear friend Hans. Particularly to those who have laid hands on him and those who have offered advice and assistance. I had a previous thread called "Hans-terville" which started out with me investigating the club and bi+ching about my issues with him. I've come a long way with him and have held in there as long as possible, but between the wet Oregon Winter and multiple issues that frustrate, I gave in and have decommissioned him. Initally I put him up for sale and the ad is still on Samba. In fact here is the posting:

Ad for Selling Hans on TheSamba
(I think I'll leave it up for nostalgic purposes)

So I have decided then to do it right. I have come to realize that truly everything that isn't made of steel needs to be replaced on this vehicle; and that everything made of steel needs de-rusting, repair, or rust-proofing. So be it. From the suport I've received from others in the club, I have been given some moral support (which is greatly appreciated) and you can see some of that under other Posts called "Hans-terville" and "Samba".

I really enjoyed the process of discovery and creativity that CatBox went through with his baby and the way he conveyed that on these boards and I hope to do my best to emulate that within this new thread "Hans-terville 2.0 (Death and Resurrection).

Fair warning to all who come along for the cerebral ride, I am a lay person, I have no formal training whatsoever- (BIG SHOCKER) I have two manuals: The Bentley book, and the Idiot Guide. Much of what I do is feeling my way through, reading and doing, or relying on the GENEROUS help of others "in the know". So thank you again my friends for being a part of this club and for browsing these boards.

As I have conveyed in other postings: Step one for me is preparing my workspace. Which I anticipate to take me a good couple of weeks. So here it is:

PRETTY RIDICULOUS HUH? (All in good time)
My ten-year old is going to get quite the work out!

Hans waits patiently:

Until next time...

hehe, thats nothing.

Mark came over one day because he was in the area and wanted to help.  i think went i got the call i was just out of bed.  like the flash on crack i went out into the pit and tried to make it presentable.  he got to our house and i actually made him sit on the couch while i was still out there trying not to be embarassed about the state it was in.  so he got to watch some cartoons with maximus.

i think Mark has seen many different stages of my house receptical, cause we all know that if it doesnt belong in the house it goes into the garage.

if you need materials to build some shelves i have plenty i can DONATE to you, FREEBIE FREEBIE FREEBIEEEE!  when i was building my shelves i would go to the cull section of home cheapo and load up on the remainders and i still have a lot.  buy some 2x4's and screws and you can have the decking.

i live in tigard.  the only problem with the deivery part is that at this current time i cannot lift anything, so you would have to help load then unload.

NOT A PROBLEM, I'll drop you a line this weekend, and maybe we can make plans for the future. I think I'd like to get the garage cleared out first. Part of this project of mine is to get all of the flotsam out of the garage and into the basement.

Sooooooonnnn....  8)
been spending most of my freetime lately on one or more of the following: job hunting, helping run cub scouts, attending soccer matches, going to a Pokemon Regional tournament in Salem with my son!
Sooooooonnnn....  8)

There is progress I swear: today I mowed the lawn for the first time this year, and the grass was still so wet that I had to make 50-60 bag dumps and my back is sore now, so gotta take it easy for the next few days. :x

Well, progress, yes. More to do, Yes. I got a job, so "one-down". Ran a Pinewood Derby weekend before last. Ran around taking care of other obligations this weekend including seeing Iron Man! Awesome movie- stick around for the bonus scene, ten seconds after the credits are over!!  :D

soooo has anything gone on?  maybe you should just leave little hans at my house, i'd take care of him real nice like   .

he wouldnt ever want to leave, and i wouldnt let him.....

seriously though have yoa got the garage spruced up?  cause i just got rid of alot of crap that was in mine yesterday to the lady across the street whose husband just left her.  she has been having garage sales every weekend to pay for her bills.  so i opened up the door and started moving the stuff i want the most over there for her to sell.  dishwasher, dresser, and a bunch of other stuff i was going to give to the goodwill.  instead i skipped the middle man.

your wood is now very reachable, it told me it was tired of being holed up in my garage and is jealous of the stuff i used for the shelves all around it.

sometimes i think i can here it talking and it sounds just like the Fly "Help meee, Heeeelp meeee!"

come around more and keep us posted.

[marq=left]HA! you said his wood was reachable, and that is a little disturbing to me that you would bring that up in public[/marq]
No really...I do it for a living.

i have been wondering where you have gotten off too.  since our last communicae' i have had the garage cleaned and then totally messed up again.  its due for another cleaning so i can do my leak repair on the engine.

its nice for you to pop in, PeterB.
