Cruse for the Cure
« on: March 12, 2008, 04:34:09 PM »

Cruise for the Cure was started in 2004 as an event to dust off our VW's and get them on the open road for all to see. The day includes a 100 mile drive from Federal Way, WA to Snoqualmie Summit before continuing back down I-90 to Lake Sammamish State Park. At the park we have Music, Food, Kids Activities, Silent Auction and historically over 200 VW's.

Although started as an Aircooled event, we've been excited to see the Watercooled VW Community join us in increasing numbers each year. CFTC is more than just a Day to Cruise and hang out with fellow VW'ers. At the heart of CFTC is a Cause that needs our help. Every year we raise funds for a new local charity. Our first years benefactor was Children's Hospital of Seattle. Our second year we choose the Evergreen Chapter for A.L.S Research. Third year's benefactor was the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation. For our 4th Annual CFTC we chose Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis in honor of one of our own: Sadie Jordan. Many of us are affected on a personal level with the War in Iraq so this year we've chosen Fisher House. Learn more about the great things they do for the Families of our Armed Forces Here.

Federal Way, Wa. to Snoqualmie Pass then down to Lake Sammammish State Park for the Auction and Raffle...

Charity: Fisher House, Ft. Lewis. This foundation makes it possible for familys to be with their recovering soldiers. We all know that the military does not pay these brave people enough and this foundation makes it possible for families to be together at a very criticle and scary time.

I've reserved a block of rooms for $89.00 each. Those coming from out of town please reference "Cruise for the Cure" when making your reservations. ICourtyard Marriott - Federal Way, WA
n addition, Cruise for the Cure will cover the cost for a Hospitality Suite so we have a place to hang out together on Saturday night.
