Im getting ready to tear down my 1600 from my super. It's dual port, I believe the heads are 043's I'll double check when I'm down there. Crank and flywheel are 8-doweled, the case is an 8mm stud AS41, still has some of the "Golden Boy" paint, as it is a VW of Canada rebuild.  Just about everything is up for grabs, parts that are aren't available are as follows:

Alternator (but I do have a 12v generator)
Alternator style fuel pump and rod (again, I also have the generator style pump and rod)

034 dizzy- I have an old 009 on the shelf though.

Heaterboxes are staying with me, as well as the tin under the pushrod tubes.

The rest is up for grabs. The heads are pretty clean on the valve cover side, I'll clean up the chamber side too to check for cracks.

It has a brand new intake manifold with removable heatrisers. Manifold is the dual purpose type for old singleport size carbs and the 34 pict. Manifold has an H 30/31 carb on it with about 10 minutes of runtime on a rebuild. Idle shutoff valve has been disabled on the carb (came to me like that) electronic choke works on it.

So- I tore it down and found the problem. Managed to drop a washer into the 3/4 side when I was putting the manifold on. So it will need new p&c's, and the head cleaned up a little to run again. Bottom end is still solid, although the endplay is a little loose.

If anyone wants it as is let me know your price range. If I ever have the time I will do the work to it and sell it as a running engine instead of a project, but the price will go up for it.
