I NEED TO CHANGE THIS TO THE 29TH SUNDAY PLEASE READ BELOW BEFORE ANSWERING THE POLL

Ok so i would like to propose a Spring Gorge Cruise on Saturday April 28th. We could meet at Farmington Thriftway For those of us that live close to there, then Cruise down to a secondary pick up point (To be determined). Hit the road and go down 26 to 84, Out to Wood Village hit the Old Hwy and Cruise up to Crown Point (Take some Pics), Then Move to Bridal Veil Falls (Just before Multnomah falls, where there is a campground by the road). Pull up, put out our banner and a BBQ (I have a portable) and Q some dogs, drink some Soda's, and laugh at the people driving inferior cars to Dubs (While taking pictures of course). After we have had our fill we could then hit 84 and Cruise back home.

We would need a few tools and the Tow Bar (in case someone has a problem. The BBQ (I have), A portable tarp (I also have). Some Hot Dogs (Costco packs), Some Soda's, and some participation.

I was also thinking about asking Absolutly VW to join us, as well as any other peoples we could get to join in.

So tell me what you think.
No really...I do it for a living.

Ok...So it turns out that the Absolutely Volkswagen Club is doing there Gorge Cruise on the 29th which is Sunday. And since I was trying to plan ours on Saturday the 28th I would like to suggest that we just join them on there's for a joint adventure.

They are going from Portland to the Gorge, Vista House, Bonneville Dam, then having a BBQ. If we do not want to go to there BBQ I am sure we could get one of our own going, but it might be nice to mingle.

The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

Spoke to one of the folks from Absolutly VW today about the cruise and they said we are welcome to join them. The BBQ they are having is for there paying members only so of course we are not invited to that. If we wanted to though we could do our own thing. Anyway I thought we could all meet over at Farmington Thriftway at 8:45 so we can be there by 9:30.

In case you live closer to where we are going you can just meet us there. We are leaving from Stark Street Pizza in Portland At 10 SHARP!!!

If you need directions or you just need my number to call me and get something worked out send me a PM and I will gladly give it out.

This is the first time I have been able to sign on here today, so, I think the bugs may be eating away at our site. I usually see a few posts on here by now, so there may be something posted and I'm just getting them. I was wondering if the cruise is still on for tommorow, and how many folks will be going.

Thanks

Got my manifold, going to try to get it changed out before Sunday.

Weather looks like it is going to be great! 8)

Is the grill going to be for everyone to "toss their meat" onto?

Are there any communal items I should be prepared to contribute to? Or just pack my own pic-a-nic basket?  :)

Thanks

Hadn't thought about it but I could bring some soda. I would plan on bringing what you like just in case. I know the BBQ they are having is closed to thier membership only so if there is some interest in having our own everbody speak up and let's see what we can get going.

Because whoever wrote this has a portable BBQ and it sounds like we will need it- I can bring my own folding chairs... and cooler, but I do not have a portable BBQ... (maybe it is going to be a cold-sack-lunch picnic day huh?) I mean are we going to be stopping to eat at the same place as the other club? How much of this has already been thought out and I am simply stepping on toes here? [/quote]
