Not sure yet.  I want to run air in the front when I do replace the beam, but I need to build up some funds for it.

Monday morning I went to the pic-n-pull with Kev to help him find some EDIS parts.  I ended up getting a free part out of the deal - a throttle position sensor.  Now to figure out a way to mount it...

Option 1. Mount it to the center of the linkage at the pivot point
Option 2. Mount it to one of the carb throttle body shafts

And just what kind of fun things are you going to do with this fancy part?
The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

MegaJolt can use the input from either a MAP (manifold pressure) or Throttle Position sensor for engine load.  The MAP sensor hasn't really worked out for me, so I am going to try out a throttle position sensor.  Just need to figure out how to mount it.

And once he figures it out for himself, he can rig it up for me as well!!!!

And thanks Duane for going with me on Monday.  That was an awesome amount of help!
Who knew that a cheap little car designed for the masses at the whim of an evil dictator could be so very cool more than 6 decades later?

According to questionable sources - I was spewing smoke and oil last week as I left the meeting.  While I assert it was a simple case of horsepower trying to get out - I did notice some smoke in the rear (although that could have been coming from another white VW nearby).

So - yeah - maybe it was leaking a little bit.

Recall that I tore the motor down in September after I destroyed the clutch to swap out the cam and fix the oil leak.  Recall that it leaked out like crazy at the last Hot Dogs & Hot Rods.

So about a month ago I bought some spring loaded push rod tubes and installed them on the drivers side.

Except it began to leak even more.

So I was about to coat the stupid things in sealant and tape them up.

Except I still had four more tubes laying around the garage.

So I was putting them together the other night.... when I realized I had a bunch of "extra" o-rings (that go on the ends).

Actually I had 8 o-rings left over.

Why would they give me 8 extra o-rings?

Ah - I see.

Because each tube requires 3 o-rings - one on each end and one that goes in the middle.

Oil leak is fixed now.
