You gorilla you!
Who knew that a cheap little car designed for the masses at the whim of an evil dictator could be so very cool more than 6 decades later?

ALrighty then... so the back is no longer 2 feet in the air.  I tore it down (in the rain last night) and put it back this evening.  I little higher than I was before Monday, but a good 4 to 5 inches lower than I was in baja mode.  I am all set for the cruise on Saturday.

Well it appears my '66 is having a wardrobe malfunction.

The sudden change from dry to soaking wet cause a case of the chicken pox to break out.  Yes, my $100 dollar paint job has failed me.  Big deal cause I have another 100 bucks and all winter to fix it.  In a nutshell I have thousands of tiny bubbles/bumps in my paint that suddenly appeared.  If I push on them they have water in em.   According to the interweb microscopic dust can soak up water if the humidity suddenly rises and cause bubbles to form.

So I'll spend a week or so removing the trim and seals.  We'll see if I have to take down to bare metal again.

The raises the question though.... What color of rustolium should I use this time?

Sand the tops off of the bubbles and clear it.

Sanding the bubbles off leaves a pit in the paint.  I can see the primer.  Probably will just leave it white.... Or possibly two-tone.
