So my '67 bug came missing the door lock pulls so I bought a set of billet ones at DIP the other day.  Problem is that they are to big for the existing threads that are currently sticking out of the doors.  Are their different sizes for different years or should they all be the same?  The package did not specify a particular year??
Also, since I do not have the manual, could someone tell me how to get the defroster to blow air in the morning?  I have discovered that pulling the red knob up gives me heat but what does the white one do?  Where should they be set for max defrost?

Thanks,
Randy

White up for defrost and I think it helps to open the wing window a bit.

Wing windows help a bunch.  Oh, and the two handles. One is for heat, opens the flaps on the heater boxes.  The other usually opens valves under the rear seats for back cabin heat, so it does not help with defrost.

No wing window anymore so I have to roll window down slightly.   So pulling up the white one will turn on defrost but does that mean I should leave the red one down to keep the heater flaps under the rear seat closed to force more air to the defrost vent?

Thanks,
Randy

Hmm, not sure on a '67.  check under rear seat to see if there are cables going to those heater vents.  there may not be.
