Here I am, newly employed (first day of work today) amd all excited:  I got to pick up my GTI after work...

Oil pressure problem:  Changed oil pump and all bearings in bottom end:  still made flashy light...

Car went to another mechanic:  bad wire, replaced wire, supposed to be fixed?  Picked it up today, flashy light problem FOUR times in 25 miles...

Broker just picked it up, back to mechanic...

Only good thing is the wholesaler who sold it to the broker is footing the bill. I have not had the car in my possession for more than two weeks!

I have a nice sweet set of lights to put in.... :?  :?  :x  :x  :x

The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

no word today... I am very bummed!

The bug got 205 miles put on it in TWO days, and did not miss a beat!  Oh, 25.3 mpg, and I don't keep my foot out of it either!

OK, latest update:  Problem SEEMS to be located in the electrical system of the motor, so the shop spent all day today chasing it down... sounds like they isolated it to an oil pressure sensor in the turbo being bad.  They are changing it tomorrow first thing, so I should have it back for the weekend.

Anyone want to help me install my new headlights Saturday morning?  I can sure use help with the water ride!

Ummm.....I have a question??? If it is an oil pressure sensor, then why is the oil pressure physically low? I mean, we had a mech. gauge on it so we know it was low. If it was a faulty switch that would mean it would think it was low when it was not, right? But since I personally pulled your oil pressure sensor and screwed in the mech. gauge and checked it I know it was physically low.

I would make them give you the parts. I have kept my mouth shut, but I stand by what I said two weeks ago. Give it back, or if not that, sell that one and buy a different one.
No really...I do it for a living.
