Well today was our Brunch...And myself and one other member showed up. That's not right...Made a special effort to get up (In the middle of the night for me) and no one was there.

If we really want to attract more members and increase our membership I think maybe we should start thinking about planning more events and get togethers and all show up. As I said before one Dub is nothing to look at but if we are together as a group we attract attention, and the more attention we attract the more members we get.
No really...I do it for a living.

I feel exceptionally guilty for this one.

I spent the afternoon Friday trying to get my car running good enough to drive the half mile from my house to Tom's.  I couldn't keep it idling, but still had every intention of going to Tom's.

As it turns out my efforts were in vain... as the family had made plans without telling me.  I drove by Tom's on the way to unannounced family activity a little after 10... only saw 1 bug.  It is discouraging.

What can we do to create more interest?  I agree, we need to have more participation with people in their VWs!

Everyone seemed so amped about a brunch that I didn't have the heart to tell you that I would be camping.

I brought back the What-Is-It game after a year long hiatus hoping it would work this time.  It obviously isn't.  Tomorrow is our monthly meeting and I would greatly consider new thoughts and ideas.  I have a feeling that this will be a topic no matter what.

One thing I thought about over the long winter is a standing monthly date at one of the local cruises.  The one that comes to my mind particularly is the Friday night cruise in the Thriftway parking lot on Farmington in Aloha.  (If there are others out there as regular as this one let me know.)  This would give us a chance to hang out, check out some hot cars and get a little club recognition.  The nice thing about the Thriftway cruise in Aloha is that you don't have to have a hot car to go.  I have taken both my ragtop and my race car.  It's fun.

I wish this lack of attendance was out of the ordinary, but it's not.  The reality is that this is your club everyone, its successes or failures are entirely up to you.

I wanted to come but did not chime in because I knew I would be camping as well.

Living as far away in Lafayette as I do, meetings during the week arent very feasable for me either.   :?

  • Time to make the doughnuts....
my bad i flaked it out as work has been crazy...boss was out of the country...idiots crashing into other cars while he is gone and im sudo in charge...said idiot getting himself laid off cause the car he hit was smashed into the car in front of it...so me and the other employee had to pick up the slack of the slacker...
The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

Hey there, PJ here,

Okay so I am not a member of the club-yet, but like what I am hearing from yous guys. Anyway- I would be inclined to attend a brunch (although I am NOT a member yet, didn't know about this, I DO live in North Portland.. but I noticed that no one mentioned that it was Easter... I don't know about you dudes, but I've got some serious family obligations on a day like Easter. LOL!  8)

Cheers again...
