Sweet, it is good to know the auto starter clears! The starter I have now is a high-torque one that only has as many miles as the motor, about 500. I might just sell it/swap it,at the bug in and pick up an auto. How much do they run?

I was not clear when I wrote that. :2down:
I have the standard starter at the moment!!!!
It is tight in there.
If the autostick starter is bigger I don't think it will fit.

But you say you have a high torque starter.
Is it aftermarket?
If so it might fit in there.... :dontknow:

Sorry for the confusion.   :headbang:
The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

Laugh out loud, dang, so the internets lore is true after all. Looks like Ill just need a new bushing then. Im not sure what model the starter is, seemed brand new and not rebuilt so I am guessing aftermarket. It came with the motor, and the guy I got the motor from didn't skimp on brands of parts. It spins really strong, just wont engage the flywheel... and of course (after this string of beautiful weather, when I get the gumption to want to pull the muffler, jack the car and get that starter out to inspect the bushing IT RAINS   :rotflmao:

After talking to Redline back and forth a few more times, I went ahead and ordered a snail gauge sync, a ICT "weber jetpac", and  new Weber hexbar (It was either that or grind the welds off, smooth the crappy round bar and arms, tune and re-weld...) So either I can figure out the issue this week or re-do evrything next week with the IRS install and retortioning of the rear. I also just ordered a moore mid-mount and urethane tranny mounts. =) i cant wait for august...

Redline stuff was shipped overnight (linkage, jetpac, sync tool and ICT adaptor all at cost including shipping!  I got my moore mid mount in the mail yesterday... I cant wait for my Scat order to arrive with the Pro-Street, sump plate, and urethane mounts. I'm just waiting 'till they get it from Rancho. Probably wont be stalking the UPS man till next week or the next...  :haha:

and urethane mounts.

I have a set of these on my tranny.
So far I have only read BAD things about them.
I am going to run them with the 1600 that I am putting in temporarily while the big engine is finished.
After that I am going to swap them out to the heavy duty GREY bus type tranny mounts.
That seems to be what the high performance crowd are running these days.

They are only $8-ish each from DIP.
I just ordered mine the other day....

You are, how do I put this, not going to  like the urethane mounts. May as well just put in a solid mount. I think it wouldn't be much more of a harsh ride. Stick with Peters advise. You will thank yourself in the future, and so will your kidneys.

I ordered the black 70 durometer ones from scat, not the red empi ones, I don't know if it makes a difference, I have read bad things about the red ones, I want the firmness of urethane to keep the tranny and motor from torquing. I know that if you over torque them while installing or hit them with any kind of oil they will split. But I figure a good coat of white lithium now and again should keep em up nice. After i get her up running and save up a bit more...( :beat_deadhorse: )  I plan on adding a Kafer bar. I just wish the simple motor bar/traction bar would fit with the CB maxi-filter setup...

I have the red ones from Bugpack in my car.
You could always install one of the tranny strap kits until you get the Kafer bar.
I have one as well as the Kafer bar on my car.
It is not up and running just yet so I cannot tell you how it acts just yet....
...but it is better than nothing, plus you can attach your Kafer down bars to it for one stiff set up.
