Yeah, totally.  Car has been idle for too long.   Super important for me to get the basics fixed so I can run it and start enjoying it.  Always funner to have a running car you can drive while doing other things.  Least for me.       

Almost done with the second axle now.

Thought I would give some updates on my recent progress.



Few things I have put in and done since back working on my car recently:

Kennedy Stage 1
New throw-out
Heli-coiled one stripped plug thread
Removed heads for new push rod seals to replace leaky older ones
New coil, plugs, wires, points, condenser, cap, rotor, adjusted valves, set timing
Fresh trans gear and motor oil
New axle seals and rear brakes
Repacked front wheel bearings
Drained old fuel, put in new
Battery
New fuel lines
Airkewld's HD clutch cable system & HD clutch pedal shaft with six shooter clutch adjustment nut
Roller pedal
HD stainless clutch and throttle cables & throttle roller end
911 style lenses
New window scrapers, felt, seals in doors
Working on LED brake and license frame lights
Have electric fuel pump to go in at some point with relay

Future plans:

Disc brakes
Narrowed 4" beam with adjusters, & drop spindles
Lower rear couple splines 
Really want an air-ride setup eventually
Ceramic coated headers with longer Super-Trapp exhaust
Full Flow
Pertronix

Truly feels great to work on my car again and implement some ideas I have had for a long while.

No, have work.  Been off two weeks with a bad knee and torn ligament and return Wednesday, otherwise would try.

Had a horrible noise coming from the engine a few day's ago, but got it figured out.  (Push rod related.) 

Took this earlier today after checking and fixing the prob.  Feels good to be closer to    my car for good.   
(Covered the mic on my phone accidentally and is muffled at times.)

Picked up a cool original `58 Oregon plate out of Gresham yesterday morning.  Put insurance on it, and got it registered at the DMV today.  Good hour and forty minutes later, and half hour left to closing.  (What a zoo in there that place is.  Glad that's over with.)  Will be wrapping up a couple things tomorrow and doing some test drives.  Gonna cruise it to a family BBQ on Sunday in Banks.  Can't wait!

My Dad will be here tomorrow visiting from out of state.  We are slammed with family stuff, but both want to attend if we are able.  He's a huge VW nut as well, and used to work for P.I. Riviera Motors back in the day.  Still has his `67 bug, and did have a `67 camper bus years ago.  Will try if we are able.
