  • Time to make the doughnuts....
Well party people,

The time has come for my wife to enter the hospital for some more modifications.
She recently had a relapse of her MS and that has her arms and legs feeling like pins and needles all day everyday.

Enter some gnarly high dose steroids that are not  guaranteed to work for anything other than putting some nifty bruises on her.  Five days of IV steroids and then tapering off with pills, not fun.

Those have done some to relieve the issues but now she cannot grip things for very long without her hands feeling like were frozen and then warmed up way to fast....

Now she has been collecting different kinds of doctors (collect the whole set! :2up:) while having issues with random abdominal pain for a while and has been having tested for some time now with no results.  Finally they have performed some tests with results that are more than "We don't know".

She will be going in and having a double surgery to remove her gallbladder along with her "reproductive parts" on November 8th.

They will be tag teaming her so that she only has to be under the one time which was done to her by these two doctors before.

This is not however any be all fix all as the doctors can't be certain that removing these parts will stop all of what is going on in there.  It will however eliminate any further issues that can be attributed to these two parts at least....MS is wonky that way.  Stupid nervous system disorder can get into anything in there and screw it up.

Yuck.   :2down: I just needed to get that out of me head.

The guys at work were talking about vacation and where they go......
I said that sounds like fun.
One of them looked at me and said that anywhere sounds like fun as you always spend yours in the hospital.
Him a funny guy.
But alas it is somewhat true....

Through all of this we keep our heads up and try to stay on the positive side of things as that is who we are.

Send her some good thoughts and keep us in your minds on that day.

Peter, Donielle, Max, and Elizabeth.

Peter, anything I can do to help once she gets out of the hospital?  I have a bit of experience with such things, ya know...
Who knew that a cheap little car designed for the masses at the whim of an evil dictator could be so very cool more than 6 decades later?

Thank you'se guys for the kind words and thoughts.

Hopefully these two modifications will ease some of the day to day issues that she is lucky enough to experiance.

I told her that I cannot leave anything alone and that it is just a part of my process that everything needs to have some aftermarket modifications or I will just not be satisfied.

I have been working on her "paintjob" and now its time again to break into the operating system.....

She can be rebuilt. Faster....Stronger....Better!

Thank you all again.

Peter

You have a great attitude when facing such hard times, and that will go a very very long way; in that it will help to heal not only yourself but even more importantly, your Wife as well!  Many kind vibes go out to you and your family Peter.

Hi Peter,
It almost sounds like she has carpel tunnel or a pinched nerve in her lower back.
You have a beautiful family  sounds like your family is strong  too. You have a good sense of
humor which is needed in trying times like these are.
I will keep the light on for you and send good thoughts to you and your family not only on November 8th but now as well.
After everyone has recouped after the surgery the family needs to go on a little trip not to terribly far maybe something like Silver State Park Falls in Silverton it is still pretty in the fall.
Take care

Thank you for the thoughts.

I have forgotten to say that she has Multiple Sclerosis and why we have been dealing with this stuff since we first started dating 15 years ago.  It was only 4 years ago that she was given the diagnosis of "You have Medically Screwed" disease.

As for the trip we have a set of hockey games on the 11th and 12th that I mentioned she might not be able to go to,  ooooooh did I get the stink eye with a little mixin' of FU in there...... :flamethrower:
"Yeah right" was the reply.

She is a tough lady, I am glad she is on my side.

Peter, I would say keep your chin up, but it seems you do a good job of that already. It is messed up you have to deal with this so regularly. I hope nothing but the best for you and your family.

Sending good thoughts your way.
You are lucky to have such a strong family.

Take care brother. To you and the fam.

Thank you for the words and thoughts J and Brian.

It means alot that you all are able to show care and compassion for someone that many of you have never met and only know me through the things I say on here and other forums.  It is awesome to us as we have had far less of a response from our immediate family.  Though they may care, they surely have a difficult time verbalizing it.  They like to pretend to be ostriches with there heads in the sand when it comes to Donielle's disease.  "She's talking and smiling, so she must be AOK."

Oh....

and....

Text messages just don't cut it when flesh and blood is in the hospital.... :lame:

Again thank you to you all for the kind words.
I will be sharing them with her later today as she does not know about these just yet...... :2up:

 :thankyou:
 :worship:

All the best to you and your lovely family Peter. Life isn’t always fair, it just is. How you, your wife, and your children have decided to deal with that is an example of a loving and caring family.
