Got the 66 finally to my house Friday. I'm planning on painting it a teal color and white. Started some sanding and found some bad bond work so I'm re doing it. Mostly on the roof by the back window and on the rear apron.

So tonight I spent a hour or so grinding down inch thick bond on the whole rear apron. But was there a dent? No the apron is just fine. Someone just decided to do a hack job of patching the exaust tip cut outs. In order the cover there terrible patch of metal over it they decided to slab a inch of bond of the whole apron. I'll have pictures tomorrow and I'm deciding whether I should re patch it the right way with no bond or just leave the exaust cut outs.

Almost have it all primed. Got shut down by rain so I continue tomorrow. As you can see I did not bother tapping anything off. I got a little secret for removing paint of windows and seals very easy. The bug is starting to come along. I still need to find fenders and a front apron.

Ya I do my best. Running out of dry weather so I'm trying to take advantage of every semi dry day I can. Got the whole outside primed now and just need to sand down the inside and prime it and then it shall be ready for paint. I found some 63 fenders I'll be putting on it and a nice front bumper and running boards on CL I'm trying to convince the guy to cut his 63 front apron off for me. We will see how convincing I am. If not I will still need to find a front apron section. If anyone knows where I could find someone willing to cut up there bug that would be awesome!

Holy smokes!  I guess I was too distracted by your progress on the body for I just now noticed that you ain't got no apron on that ride.

So i got the front clip today , i guess i was convincing enough or maybe my good friend ben franklin was but either way i got the front clip. I gotta say its not all that fun and kinda sad cutting up a bug. Well my progress on the bug has slowed down i wanted to paint it today due to the good weather but just had to much stuff going on. Hopefully once i get the front clip on it will be full blast again at getting this thing finished. Got the motor from the chop top back together and ready to put in might do that tomorrow if i feel up to it. There is just not enough time in the day to do everything i wish to do! :dontknow:
