4 luggers :rotflmao:

Your logic is flawed.  As you know 4-bolt Beetles were introduced in 1968 (that's 4 years after the '64 line was introduced).  I'm starting to think you are making up the rules as you go sir.

The ratio of window size increase from '57 to '58 is far greater than the increase from '63 to '64.  Using your "window size" analogy you just expanded the f-- c----- classification to 1958.  Welcome to the club.

Ball Joint suspension is "slimmer" and more compact (not to mention less complex) than the Link Pin style referenced.

The term "f-- c-----" was likely brought about by some poor sap that wasn't rich enough or lucky enough to obtain a coveted oval window car but wanted his '60 to be considered just as cool.  Sorry guys, a big window car is a big window car no matter how far back you stand.

I believe CoolBlue has one of the only "slim chicks" on this site.  Congrats!  It's just too bad they all look alike,

I guess I will just have to roll in my slim chick '67 convertible (has a really small window).

 :cheers2:

Mark - J was referring to Type 3s being a fatty if it was a 4 lugger.

Let's keep this discussion light-hearted please.  The bottom line is we all drive the VWs we drive for personal or financial reasons.

Back in the late 80s when I bought my first VW, the guys I rolled with gave me grief over having a 68.  Big deal cause that 68 was nicer than anything they were driving.  Now I'm loving my '66.  I've rebuilt it into the car that I want to drive - not anyone else.

There is enough division in the VW community as there is without adding another arbitrary classification.  Let's just get back to what really matters - working on/driving VWs, and giving Peter a hard time for driving a Super!   :rotflmao:

Just kidding!  Once Peter finishes his motor it is going to be one fast super!  Plus Peter has made his Super into something that is his creation.  Take a look at his build thread sometime - he's put a lot of thought into the work he's done.

Yes mark that post was in referance to the t3 post as Duane said.

Try to keep up my brother. :2up: :rotflmao:

. I think you meant 64 to 65 for window size increase.

They are all just bugs to me.  As well a joe blow out there who could care less about the size of a window.

I loves me a big girl and my car fits that bill.
I don't give a @#*& about the rest as when I am done with the 2332, you will all wanna ride in my "f-- c-----".
You can have the earlies as I am just not into the "VW scene" like most die hards.

I picked up a bug after I saw the Volksrods issue of VW Trends.
I was in the market for a toy with limited funds and a bug presented a rust free, running project for me to modify as I saw fit.  At the time it just made sense as I was looking at the early fifties chevys at that time as well and could only afford a rusted pile that didn't run. It was around the time we had our first new mechanic so funds were limited.

I pray to our lady of internal combustion.
Right now its in the hiney of a VW...
 :king:

So I put my money down and have enjoyed it since.
But....
If my wife told me that if I sold it once it was finished and I drove it for a while that I could have the funds to purchase another Chevelle or build a nasty V-8 for my Bel Air the car would be gone with the wind and I would show up to the meetings in my "notch" or another muscle car.  Last time it was a healthy '72 Nova.

Argue all you want they are all just cars and its great that we are here to support the cars and each other...

My Square may have 4 lug wheels, but it DOES NOT have the hideous huge taillights and late model wrap around turn signals...

Anyways, I have had everything from a 1958 bug to 1972 squareback, and they are ALL classic VW's in this water cooled world.  Remember, ever supers are getting more rare all the time!
Who knew that a cheap little car designed for the masses at the whim of an evil dictator could be so very cool more than 6 decades later?

Ok, now I'm really confused.... You guys ARE making up your own rules... The 68 and 69 type 3 are fattys now??? Man the rules seem to change every day.... You'd better let the rest of the world so there isn't some kind of apocalyptic rebellion.....
It you didn't break it then you  didn't try hard enough...

OK - sounds like we all agree to disagree on the actual definition of a fatchick.  We're up to 22 posts now on this topic.  I'm going to lock this one down shortly, so if you have anything else to say about it - take it to The Samba.

my prefernces lie with the late model cars... fully dressed interiorwise, they're quieter for highway travel and have better gearing for the same, too.  Plus I like the late model styling for traditional Cal Look.  I laugh at some of the vintage purists over on the Samba... they remind me of Star Trekkies...heh.

In all honesty, I like 'em all, but my personal tastes lie with late models also because everybody and their second cousin twice removed is building '67 and earlier cars.

And Ryan goes for the money shot.... Truthfully Ryan I am really starting to like the German look cars more and more... Nice drivers, fast, and great cruisers... I have a 70 sitt'n here that is begg'n for it.... I already have another 2276 and SDS sit'n around... Just gotta get another turbo....

Just let the haters say what they want.... The'll be look'n at nothing but tail lights anyway.... (and from a distance at that)... It will be really hard to see how big the windows are from that distance....

Alright - so I'm gonna lock this now.  No particular post is the cause of it getting locked - just want to keep it from spiraling out of control now.

Again - whether you drive an split/oval, early, late or super - it doesn't really matter as long as you are having fun.
