Ouch Matty.   :undecided:  Told ya you should sell that thing, it's trying to kill ya!
Who knew that a cheap little car designed for the masses at the whim of an evil dictator could be so very cool more than 6 decades later?

  • Time to make the doughnuts....
I did that when I wrecked my street bike.

AS I was tumbling through the air I saw what looked like part of my helmet and got mad that I broke it.  Turns out it was just part of the bike........

Got up and bike was beat, but the helmet its still good.

The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

Its about that time of the year everything starts breaking on my car first the transmission and then today the brake pedal went to the floor. i lost all pressure. checked fluid, it was empty, looked around for leaks and found none but there must be one somewhere. well i filled the fluid resivor and re bled the brakes and i have pressure, we will see how long it last.

Its an electrical fit.

It feels like the coil or points replacement as I have described it to Markie while waiting for the hook to get me.

By the way that was the coolest tow truck I have had the pleasure to use.  It had a break in the deck made special for the lowered cars.  Pictures to come later.

It is all fixed now.

The chrome coil that was in there went out.  So I dug out my old Rabbit coil and it fired right up.

I also took the time to redo the rubber fuel line that was run from under the car at the fuel filter through the tin (with no grommet  :nono:)  to the carb.  It now has a high purity stainless steel line from the filter through the tin (now with grommet ) to the carb.

There was also a wire with a few bare spots on it that I cut off and replaced whilst down there.

I drove it around the block and it seemed to be fine, so I cleaned all up and drove it to Wilsonville where I work and it is all good so far.
