I bought my dells from a dude in Newberg. He has a grip of jets, and knows a ton about dells. I will see if I can get a contact number for him.

No hurry... CB Performance has jets for $2.95 each, which is a little less than half the price of what this guy in Redmond charges, even though he's claiming half price for a jet exchange of my existing ones, and can exchange jets up to a year after purchase to get my carbs dialed in.

She's still progressing, though the car is currently snowed in to the curb after tons of snowfall here in Lakeview.  I have a pic somewhere, but for now I'll stick with the engine.  I would have had the bottom end done this past weekend, but discovered I did not have a cam plug...lol.  D'oh!  I could have sworn they came with the gasket kits, but I was wrong.

Bottom end is done, sump is installed and everything is sealed up lock, stock and barrel. Quick question, though: anybody got a loose/broken up set of Grant or Mahle 90.5mm piston rings?  I need a single expander ring as I inadvertently accidentally stretched one out during installation this afternoon... hate to buy a whole set of rings just for one part, but if I gotta, I will...

Oh that is a pisser...

I only had a couple for some 92's I had pulled.

If you are in a pinch I can send one to you and you can trim it to fit.

Let me know if you can get ahold of one or not.  If not I can see where I put them and pull one of  them out of storage for you.

Peter

Hmm.  New term:  "Expander Ring".  Which one is that?

I believe that it is the middle one of the oil set.

I was sorta thinking that but wanted clarification.  Just put in my Total Seal rings and they also have a ring you could call an "expander".  What really sucks is I threw away all my old oil rings.  There is a small chance they are still in the bottom of my trash can.  I will check tonight.  (Kinda hoping you just needed a top ring 'cause I have 4 of them. )

Yeah, on my first engine I broke the top rings on installation once, had to buy a new set... but then I bought the right tool for the job and that ended my problems... go figure, eh? lol.  That was back around 2000 and I was building my first 1600.

I think I may have a couple old sets of 90.5's in my garage I might be able to yard one from... I know I have at least one complete set, for sure.  I remembered that last night just after I put an APB out...lol.

Well I was going to clean my entire garage just to get you the part you needed.

But now that you dont need it, I wont.

The disarray stays.

Dang it.

I'm hoping I saved you the trouble of doing so, lol.  I would feel mighty crappy if you'd turned your garage upside down all on account of me... :embarrassed:
