Nice!

The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

Well after some parts hustling and procurement I am ready to begin reassembly.  I have spent a little time upgrading a couple other items while I had the hood open (and the engine bay empty).

This is what 20ft of copper tubing will get you.  (sorry for the picture quality but that is a boost gauge next to the tach)

Picked up some goodies at the Portland Swap Meet....

Off to build the 2074!

The Bus runs again! Actually runs better with the extra 70cc's.  Ran into a strange loop-back power issue with my relay activated cicuit.  Not a big issue unless you wanted to actually have the engine stop running when the key is removed from the ignition.  Bypassed the relay and all is fine.  The MSD is working as it should.  Starts great with the retard system in place. Need to install the bumper and rear apron then it is off to test it out. I have a week to shake it down before the Cruise For The Cure.

Is that a 6A with a Boost timing retard module?
Your picture is kinda fuzzy....

Sweet!!!

You are correct. But my success is short-live. Headed home via public transportation to get my truck and towbar. Looks like another fuel pump bites the dust. And this one is a Holley Red. :-(

Looks like my fuel pressure regulator died. Plugged the fuel pump directly into the carb and we are back on the road.

Just keep your fingers crossed that it is just the small things at this point......not major surgery again.

Was there a trail of blue smoke?  That's how I roll....   :2down:

So I did order a Carbon Seal for a Garrett T28 turbo today.  I don't happen have a Garrett T28 turbo so I am crossing my fingers that the inside dimensions are similar my Chinese made T28  and I can make it fit.  This should stop my oil burning problem. Oh, I did reach out to the guy that custom-made my turbo header and asked him about the Carbon Seal availability.  He said he would check.  This was over a week ago.  [crickets]

I installed a new wastegate accuator as well.  The old one opened up at 14 psi.  That is a little high for a street application (so I am told) so the new one will "crack" at 7 psi and open at 10 psi.  It sucks.  The "crack" portion is crack.  It makes the engine shake a bit.  Very annoying.  I may put my old one back on or find one that just plain "opens" at 10.

The new 2074 has good power and motors along great.  Had new tires installed on the front today over a Les Schwab.  They were unable to perform an alignment as the rear wheels sit inside the fender and they can't attach the required "head".  Gotta find some old school outfit I guess.
