After everyone decided to head home, I decided I was going to make a run to Hug Point. It is located 3 miles south of Cannon Beach. The best time to stop in is at low tide so you can make it around the rock to get to see these amazing sites  :2up:

When you first get down to the beach you are greeted by this to your right (north). At low tide, you walk around to the left of the rock to get to the good stuff.

Upon walking around the rock you are greeted by this sight. I always love looking at the expression on peoples faces that I take out there for the first time. Same one I had when I first came here two years ago.

And then if you proceed to keep heading north of the beach you reach this cavern in the rock face. Good idea to bring a flashlight if you want to get to the back as it get a little bit dark in the back. it goes back a good 75 feet or so. At high tide the water comes crashing in and swirls around the back and comes splashing back out in the upper left corner of the photo.

This was taken with me inside kind of towards the back of it facing the entrance.

If you walk down the old road that the postal service used to use back in the old days... I found this at a sharp bend in the road. I'm not exactly sure what it may have been used for. At high tide the water would be crashing all over this.

And if you head left when coming down to the beach (south), there is other kind of neat things to see like these.

I actually took many more pics but these were my favorite ones. I didn't want to get too greedy posting pics. But this is what everyone else missed out on

We drove by Hug point, I asked if we were supposed to stop and get out and well hug.

We drove down to tillamook and then home.

We had a good time and the Bus survived the drive.  I think the smoking is getting better but that could just be me hoping....

So I ended up with an extra camp chair after the picnic at Coffenbury Lake.  If you are missing a black fold-up chair give me a holler.

A little slow on getting these out of the camera but here are my pics from the cruise.

This was after they moved back some 20 feet.

Here you can just make out Jeff using my shovel to dig out the PT.
