Check that out... someone actually bought Mitch's old car.  http://web.mac.com/larry_mckenzie/iWeb/Site/Welcome.html  I'm sure if they've finished restoring it or not.... talk about history.

I'd seen that link some time back, I have no idea if the guy has made any progress on it.  If he has, he's keeping it quiet.  I know one of the Evensen's cars is completely garbage now, some guy was trying to sell it for an ungodly amount of money even though it was trashed.

I noticed recently that Dave Greer's car sold and went back to Pennsylvania or somewhere.  That thing was around the NW forever!

If I am not mistaken - it appears that Mitch's car is actually in Mark Merrill's VW collection now.  It does not appear to be completely restored yet, but still intact as of 2008.

5th car up from the bottom - the door appears to have the R&R logo on it.

So I contacted the owner of the R&R drag bug and he sent the following:

Yes I still have it. Unfortunely I got burned by a couple of body/paint guys. I need to update the blog it has been a long time since the last update. The guy helping me, Ray Schubert is very picky about how it gets done. So it's his way or the highway and I need his help, so that has helped with the delays. I have also used up all the money set aside for the project and more money has been hard to come by.
I have a new body guy who does fantastic work but getting him to do it is tough. He is a VW guy and understands the importance of this car. I really want it done this year, but I am not holding my breath. The sad thing is I bought and restored an old B Modified compact race car (Good E Nuff) in the last few years, but this car has been a lot more diffecult. When it's done it will be raced here on the west coast and if Mark will let me, I will keep it at his place in between races so people can see it. I feel bad that it has taken so long but some things are beyond my control.

Ray Schubert... man, I read a lot about that guy in the magazine and how he's plugged in with some industry heavy hitters and stuff.  I myself don't think too much of him, as he totally flaked out on me when I was shopping parts for my current 2017 build.  We talked on the phone about parts and he was going to get back to me on prices, then never returned any of my phone calls.  Guess I wasn't a big enough industry hot shot or something.  Flakey.
