I'm going to ask a car/VW/event related question... I hope y'all don't mind. ;D

Who's going to the Bug-in next Sunday?  I am thinking about racing... just for the hell of it.  Anyone else want to join me in racing?  I figure I got a few choices.... park in general and get ripped off, park in show and watch cashley's buddies win, park in swap and sell some left-over bug run shirts, or race.

So, where's the arguement?  I'm a little lost for words now.  Is this a trick?  Moderator!

Well, I'm going to the Bug-In.  I beleive we talked about rolling out that way as a group, or "club".  I say we meet up at the Beaverton Fred Meyer (Canyon Rd & Hwy 217) at 0645 and leave at 0700.  That should put us somewhere near the front of the line (it gets long fast).  If you are going to race that should work well.

So who's with me?  Beaverton Fred Meyer parking lot (near Starbucks) at 0645, August 1st.  Be there or drive a Square.   ;D

i and my copilot will be there and not in a square....you know who you are  :-*
The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

What's everyone planning on doing at the Bug-In?

park outside ?
park inside ?
show ?
race ?
swap ?

(prices vary per what you do, looks like showing, racing and swap do include admission ;D).

I'm up for show ... as long as that sweet '63 resto ragtop-slider doesn't park next to me and make me look bad again!  :D .. jk!

  • What?
i will be moving

I know life moves at its own pace, and things happen you can't control. But there is only a few big VW shows in town (really only two). You couldn't plan the move around the one actually in Portland?

If I can get my car going I will be in the show.

See everyone at 6:45am at Freddie's.  I am leaning towards racing - just for the hell of it.  If not - I will be in the show.

i know i wanted to make this year but the cards just didnt fall right.  moving needs to be done in one day and neither car will be ready... no time or $$$  :(

What time will you guys plan to be at PIR? I'm not sure how early to be there to beat the line down I-5.

We will likely be at PIR around 7:20 (if we leave right at 7:00).
