manx is a type of fiberglass dune buggy.

in Ryan B's gallery are pictures of his manx look alike.

Yep. People usually refer to all glass buggies as a Manx. However there were many many many different companies making them. True Manx's are worth a pretty penny these days.

Mine is a Thunderbug glass body. According to Dune buggy archives there was about 70 of them made so it's a rare one but prob not worth a whole lot except to a collector.

I actually have 2 Manx's. The blue one I built for my wife to drive in the Sand.  I have a black one with a very different bodystyle. It's in the "basket case" stage. Pretty much just parts that I need to put together.

It's okay if you're into Bugs with 4 bolt wheels.  Good price though.  I'm just not into them new fangled Beetles with defroster motors and external gas caps.  At least it's not a Super. :D

Heh! My `69 has no defroster motor, and the gas flap is internal release.

Hey, I like my 4-bolt wheels!  And a '68 does NOT have a defroster motor either, although it would have been nice in January!
Who knew that a cheap little car designed for the masses at the whim of an evil dictator could be so very cool more than 6 decades later?

just because you guys like to pee into the wind and get your reward doesnt mean that all of us want to be followers.

your just jealous that i can turn a knob on the dash and defrost my beautiful curved window.  without wiping it with the defroster rag.

and the gas door thing means that i have a cool place to mount my Volksrods coalition tag.

but your right i dont feel all that good about my four lug wheels.  i wish that i had five lugs in the correct pattern, CHEVY!

there are much cooler wheels for those and thats where my true infections for cars come from.
