Just wanted to say hello,
I'm Russ, Been a car guy as long as I can remember. I just picked up a '65 Bug for my Wife, I spent the last couple of weeks doing little detail stuff to it and I'm looking forward to the Bugrun.

I did,
It was listed on the Samba, the seller was in Portland. His Grandmother bought as a tourist sale, took delivery in Hamburg, drove it to visit family in the Netherlands then shipped it home.
He had redone all the mechanicals and the interior, the pans are perfect. I've been replacing minor stuff. I'm doing the running boards this weekend, but the paint is original.
I love all the scratches and chips, you can't paint over history......

will the club have an area at the Bugin? I'd like to pay some dues and show up.

Oh,
I see you have a '75 Riv in your signature... I have a '72 and a '71 parts car.
Let me know if you need any 455 parts, I bet I can hook you up....

Actually you can pay your dues right here on line, if you'd care to. Just go your profile page/ on the left side there is a navigation bar, under actions there is an action that says paid subscriptions/ Click that and you can use your Credit\Debit card to pay your dues. You should gain immediate access to the members area/ If you don't holler at Slammed67, or TotallyVW and they can hook you up.
No really...I do it for a living.

Russ, the Bug Run is our clubs biggest annual event, so we'll be there in force. We
usually have the club booth set up between the gate and the drag tower. This is
our 25th Bug Run and the t-shirt is really cool.

I'm more familiar with bugs than busses, so i gotta ask...what's 455? I'll be working
the gate ( after you pay ) directing traffic, so Ill watch for your bug.

That is good...I'm old enough to remember the Riviera ( Buick ) as quite the design exercise.
Chalk it up to holiday mode.

See ya there.

  • Time to make the doughnuts....
a 455 would scoot your bus on down the road.

there is a guy on Volksrods named BigHoov that widened his bug 12" and stuffed a 455 and a front wheel drive transaxle into the back...
The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

Sounds like an Olds Toronado setup, I've seen them in Corvairs....
