...what is meant by "Swallowtail"?  I have seen that term used a few times with the early Rabbits.

If I am correct, at one time(for a short time) they were there own type of Rabbit. Here is where you can find out everything you always wanted to know about it, including Vins to know if yours is one. If it is it's RARE and you will need to do a full resto  ;)

Rats.  Missed it by one year.   :(

So this is my latest find.  A '77 sunroof Rabbit.  The motor is toast (major mossquitto killer when it'll start) but the body is decent.  My '84 Rabbit Convertible will require too much work with the amount of front end damage so my plan is to pull as many parts off the convertible and install them on the '77.  Easy enough, right?  They are both fuel injected cars so the wiring hopefully will be close and the interior looks close enough.  We'll see.

Wish me luck!

Computer(if you wanna call it that) is different (I happen to know a guy who probably has one) orrrrrrr you could just do a swap Harness all which should work fine(unless the engine in your 84 sucks<I would imagine it's a 1.8>). If you need a bottom end I happen to know a guy who has a 1.8 which is bored to 1.9 Lower with new pistons. It has been all balanced and is VERY nice just waiting for the 1.8 Big valve head or better yet the 1.8 16 big valve head. If none of that is your flavor I happen to know a guy that has a 97,000 mile 2.0 ltr aba motor Minus mani and throttle body(Mustang 3" just happens to fit PERFECTLY) that would love to live in a bunny. So yeah if you need another set wrenches ever you know how to get me.  :)

  • Time to make the doughnuts....
hey look its even in front of the new garage!
The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.
