Well today I finally put in my pop out rear quarter windows. When I got them off CL they were in ok shape and just had the latches. I bought new outer seals and hardware from WCM. Since I'm slowly ditching all the "chrome" on my car I also decided to paint the frames black.
Here they are taped off and ready to spray.

Now with a couple of coats of primer and some satin black top coat.

This morning I started out by putting on the new outer seals. I read a bunch of stuff on The Samba about people fighting with these and taking forever to get them on. What I found is that if you dip them in soapy water and use a spline roller, like you would use for a window screen, it goes pretty well. I think it took me about 30 mins to do both windows.

All the hardware ready to go.

First side cut out.

One side done.

And the other side.

I think it took me about 90 minutes all together to install them. A nice quick project to get some chillin' for the summer. ;D Between the $55 for the windows and the stuff I ordered I think I'm only about $130 into the whole project. That's pretty darn good compared to what the new kits sell for. Plus it's OEVW glass.
