Rust is lighter then carbon fiber.

Some cars look ok with carbon fiber.  Yours isn't one of those.

We stayed at the Marriott or whatever the big hotel is that it starts at. I think this year we are going to stay over where Bryan and Erica were last year though. It is just across the street, the price is better the rooms are just as nice, and the breakfast is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYyyy better. This will be our 5th year there and lastyear, and I believe this year we went up on Sat. Morning and went back Monday. We had a great time in Seattle, and I think we are gonna have a better time this year.

with the help of john monty(t3squared) and Big T (thanny) we gave my bug a butt lift. i know that most will boo hooo that idea but it was just too low... remember when you lower a bug for the first time and you have to pry the arm away off the spring plate rest deal..?? my arm was sitting almost 2 inches off that stop lol.

we carefully measured and moved each arm to have a "1 finger tip" gap from the bottom rest on each side, which was about one outer spline. for those of you scientific people we moved it from a 14 degree angle to about 8 degrees. it made a world of difference in its driveablity and "comfort" and i still dont think it looks that bad

It is your car so you have my support to do what ever you want to do with it  ;D But I concur with everyone else and I like the current color scheme better.

well got new tires for the rear because the last ones were worn, go figure. as i was putting the well bolts on for some reason i striped a lug hole in the drum on each side. someone had already done the same thing so now i have 3 bolts holding each rear wheel on..... guess its time for new drums and shoes :/

everything is fixed in the back end and running great.

thanny, or "big T" as he is known in the "business" took the bug'i (multiple bugs) on a little trip.

we departed hillsboro at the wee hours of 11am. took the highway for tillimook. both bugs made it better then anticipated. first stop was the tillimook air museum, really cool place. went to leave there, my bug wouldnt start. cool thing about an old bug is people were almost fighting over who got to help push start it lol :D :-[

next stop was the cheese factory. after nom nom'ing on some food and ice cream there go out to the bug and it starts right up. kept driving north till we hit garabaldy, decided to stop for gas (i dont trust my gauge). turns out i had done the whole trip on 4 gal of gas!!! much better then i expected.

again we depart for seaside now. once there fun in the arcade and pushing babys in the sand was had by all. again bug started up fine and we made for home..

last stop of the night. dinner in hillsboro. long story short, come out after dinner and bug does not want to start again... think it may be the starter cylinoid..

anywho bug is running great and fun times were had by all  8)

  • What?
Looks like a nice trip. Been wanting to take an air cooled trip to tillamook ( have a house in oceanside, you can see it on the map), but the car has been apart for a long time.
