For those that are interested, Chip Foose will be in Portland for the Hot Rod show at the Oregon Convention Center. I forgot to get the dates of the show. Sorry  :-[

The show is April 16th through the 18th. The show  you were thinking about Todd was the Portland International car Show. It does not say when Chip is going to be there.

hold your tung sonny

Wow I stand corrected. He has done one VW after all... good man! I watch that show all the time but have not seen that one yet. Usually only American muscle kind of stuff. Sometimes a truck or SUV. Just recently I seen them do a Rice Burner. Bleh

J - to elaborate, I was blown away that they did what they did in 1 week to 60's Type 2.

but then again, if I had the build team and funds they have I would have the same type of ride  ;D

In general, I like what they did to Hot Dog Fred's Bus.... I can get past the skylights and indicator light relocation, but the ONLY thing I had a problem with was replacing the big VW emblem from the front with the "VOLKSWAGEN" (that typically goes on the back).  In my opinion, taking the front VW emblem away from the bus is like cutting the fins off a 57 Bel Air.  Of course... that's just MY opinion.

i Liked it.......

But then again I am not a purist by any scope of the word.  I am totally into the resto-mod/hotrod/make-it-look-one-off kind of look.

Also Chip claimed in one of his shows, I believe it was "geared up" that he always liked VW's and jumped on the opportunity to work on a VW on Overhaulin.  he talked about his first VW being a baja.

I plan on going the the Rod Show, and making an attempt to see Foose, maybe we can get him a Bug Run Flyer??  ::) ;)

I'm a detroit iron hotrod kinda guy at heart and I catch all of those gearhead shows when I can.  I think my Tivo is fixated on Spike and Disovery.

I plan on at least taking the boy if not the whole family.

Like Bryan, I like american muscle(Mopar to be exact); and yes Mr. Foose did comment on how he had been waiting to get an old air-cooled VW on Overhaulin  ;)
