Volksters spotted on the Beach!
« on: October 16, 2009, 09:39:20 PM »

The Morning of September 19th was drippy and dismal, but the Volksters braved the weather and showed up at the meeting place in North Plains for the 4th Annual Beach Cruise.  As the group gathered, the clouds parted and the sun started peeking through.  From North Plains it was off to Del Rey Beach, just north of Gearhart, OR.  14 VW’s cruised down the Oregon Coast Highway, along with several other chase autos.  By the time everyone made it out on the Sand and got situated, the sun had burned off all the clouds and it was there to stay.  Volksters and family members alike enjoyed a fun-filled day of kite flying, great BBQ and snacks, and a leisurely competition of Bolo ball.  And of course there was the playing in the sand and just relaxing.  It was a great event, and our pack of VW’s attracted a lot of attention, from cruising in line down the highway, to our lineup on the beach.  We even had an officer of the Gearhart police stop by and swap stories, explaining he had 4 VW’s of his own!  It was an event to remember, and if you didn’t make it this year, be sure to watch the calendar for next year’s Cruise to the Beach!

Kimberley and I almosrt stayed home as it was pouring down here, but we thought ah hell let's see who is going anyway. When we got there we were pleased to find one of the biggest turnouts ever, what a great day.

Just leave the part where it is and support it with some duct tape, then remove the engine and tranny around it.  Installation is reverse of removal.
