It looks real good, nice work! I have to say I thought seeing the sanded effect with all the color layers visible would have been a different look if you just shot it with clear afterwords. It had that psychedelic tie-dye thing going on...

Thanks man. Yeah every one seems to like the jaw breaker status it had going on but the point in my build was to bring the car back to some form of glory.

I love that green too witch helps lol i had the color picked before i even had the car lol

Great color choice and I can't believe that is spray paint on the top. You must know some rattle can voodoo to make it look that good.

Oh voodoo is just a side thing for me lol. No its a lot of prep work. I am not completely happy with it either there is still lot of work to be done. But for what it is I am very happy lol.... ;D

So the motor is more or less done. I still need to put a few bits on but she is ready to start.

Tryed to get her fired up tonight but it did not happen. We got very close though she poped a few times and just about kicked over. I think she just needs some fine tuning but she is right there. Stay tuned I should have a vid up this weekend if everything gos according to plan!

So i thought it was time for some more pics. The motor is more or less done. all i have left to do it put the GEN belt on and the front cover on. I should have those out of the way tomorow. And then its about 40 bucks in caps away from being driveable.

so heres where i am at now. Mind you i still have some detial painting left to do on the air cleaner and the coil hold down but she is more or less there.

let me know what you think!  ;D ;D

No its been changed over to carbs. I am going to return it to its fuel injection glory one of these days but its just not in the cards for now.

so its nothing big after last nights pics but i have new ones from tonight. The motor is togther its just  missing the Gen belt cover, The oil stand cap, the pvc hose and the fresh air inlet tube for the air cleaner.

I also got my starting issue fixed. The adjustment bolt for the timming was too loose so it was kicking the distributor out of the gear in the motor......was trying to adjust the valves 180 off.......not a good plan lol.

But she is all adjusted now and she fires right up! so at this point i need to set the timming and adjust the carbs. Then break in on the motor and I am good to go!

So here is a quick befor

and after

Why would I buy new quality parts even if I had to save for them? I mean, I can buy used poop for half the price with no Warranty, or better yet I could re engineer it myself and hack it on there and then cry when it doesn't work.

Ok so i know it seems like things have come to a stand still and well they have......I have two oil leakes on the motor so it looks like i will be pulling it out agin  ::)....Oil cooler seals as well as from the front of the case some where.  aside from that I have installed all the windows but the rear window and I have gotten new tail lights for her.

at this point she needs a tune and those oil leaks fixed. I am also having my wheels media blasted right now so they will be ready for paint.

We are getting close i just need to come up with the time and the money.....and some one who can tune it for me seeing as i cant seem to do it....lol

anyways just a few pics

ok so here are the old tails

and the new ones installed

and just a few pics of the windows and such

Well i want to first of all thank Duane for the help today! He stopped by this morning to have a look and helped me with my chokes.....And she fired right up. so needless to say i feel a lot better about things.

Thank you Duane!

On a side note I am very unhappy with how long my wheels are taking.......i mean 5 weeks and only one is done?? I know media blasting is not that hard....even one wheel a week and they would be done.....but no only one wheel is done so far >:( >:( </rant>

Oh and page 4 whoot

How many coats of paint did you do with the rattlecans? And what did you do to get it smoothed out? Wet sand?
