Call the head builders and tell them what you are going to be building and they can help you hash out the build combo with you.

Custom tailored engine just for you.  I had pretty much ironed mine all out before I called so it was a short conversation....

If you are going to go with the 92's  then you should use the thickwall set from AA performance.  Look for them over on thesamba.
They are thicker than the stock cylinders so that should be a very good in your square.  You have to have your case and heads bored to the 94mm size to fit them, but they are good insurance against warping.

Well, I checked into the thick walled 92's.  Can't really swing another 250 bucks to have the case opened up again, but they are a dang good idea.  Will be using regular 92's.  Not sure if I need stroker or non stroker with spacers as I am going to use a 76mm crank.

My cam is a Scat C35.  Any opinions on that?  Should I run it with 1.1:1 rockers, or 2.5:1?

Well looks like I will be waiting to get heads...  I will be ordering crank and rods from CB Performance on Friday, and Pistons and Cylinders as well.  Also picking up stuff from Stan the Dog...

Will have most of what I need except heads and exhaust.  Probably need longer pushrods and maybe 1.25:1 rockers.

Uncle Sam took too much of my nice big overtime check...

Not like the car is even close to being drivable, so it's not that big of a deal to have to wait for good heads.

I think I will be getting a 1 and 5/8 or 1 and 1/2 inch merged header. Thinking of doing a custom exhaust with a flowmaster...

OK spent a few greenbacks today.

Ordered my 76mm crank and rods from CP Performance.  2021 here I come!
Went and visited this cool guy in PDX and gave him a 100 smackers for some shiny's. Now have air cleaners, hex bar linkage and ported manifolds... match ported for Timm's Stage 2's.
And I won an ebay bid for an MSD box, only 65.00... but it turns out I bid on one without rev limiter, dang it... anyone know if you can add that externally?

And I just hooked up a saltwater system and made a solar heater for my swimming pool, yay!

You should be fine without the rev limiter.
I have the 6A in my car without issue.
Of course that is on a RPM challenged car.....

You should save up the money and buy Stan's header as they are functional art for your car.

Stan has a really nice set of tin's I'm going to get from him.  Don't know about a header.  Going to order a Kymco merged I think...

Its not cheap at $350 but it is one of the things that looks as good as it functions.

Google search A-1 Sidewinder exhaust....

I know I want one.

He didn't tell me about that... just some really pretty tins.  The Kymco is only about 130 uncoated, and 180 ceramic.

$350 for the sidewinder? You must be including shipping since you can get them from vwparts.net for $314 ceramic coated.

Peter, do you have a pipe bender? I want to get the sidewinder, but the muffler seems a bit steep to me at $300 I know a local muffler shop could make that part for far less. Maybe since it is stainless it is so spendy? I want the muffler to be roughly in the same position as the A1 setup.

I was going to build one but not just now.  I don't have a bender, I was going to oreder all my bends after making a rough design with some electrical conduit.  That way I have a swell idea of what it is I will need to order.

Well, I started on the wetsanding today.  just too much fun lol...  had a couple bad runs and one area with big srcatches that I had to sand down and repaint.  Will be nice to get it done.

Any suggestions on rubbing compound?  And anyone have a polisher I can borrow?  Electric or air would be fine.

Waiting for my crank and rods to show up from CB any time!

Oh, anyone able to braze a pickup tube on for me while my case is split?
