Nope.  I suppose you could though.

OK, I got 5 cans of rattle primer Rustoleum,  3 quarts of the professional rustoleum in the pour cans (sunburst yellow), the foam rollers (before I read this lol) and some 400 grit wet-dry paper.  Hope to get the first coat of primer on soon!

Jeff, I will still need your help with the body filler, nose, etc...  And anyone who wants to sand can come pitch in!

Also, I will need help to get the car into the garage I think...

OK, I am trying the Duane method of painting!  Still not dure about why the Rustoleum can't be thinned and sprayed, but what do I know? This is all new to me!. I did get some paint on it today.

I need to thank Ryan B. for coming by after work tonight.  He was able to finish rebuilding the window seal area on the driver's side rear window. I did not think that would be possible!

Sunday I hope to get help moving the Square into my garage so I can work on the paint in a heated space!  I may need help moving my tablesaw, etc. out of the way.

So, is there a particular technique to wet sanding?  I have 400, 600 and 1500 grit wet-dry.  How much water do you use?  Use a sanding block?  Etc...

I carried a small spray bottle with me and kept it wet.  You don't want the paper to get dry.  I also kept a bucket of water handy to rinse off the sandpaper once in a while.  I should have taken a video of what I did.

As for a block - no - I didn't use one.  I put hand to paper and went to work.  :)

OK sounds good Duane. I will be sanding tomorrow, then putting down some paint!  I see what you mean about the 1:1 ratio. I tried some only 50% thined and it looks rougher.

Jeff, were you still wanting to come by on Saturday as well?  Would be cool by me.  I now see why there was Bondo on the driver's door.

The car has a coat of yellow over most of it now, 2 coats on roof and rear fenders + tailgate.

Hope to get it in the garage on Sunday, wet-sand and apply another coat perhaps, depends.

Rust is lighter then carbon fiber.

Some cars look ok with carbon fiber.  Yours isn't one of those.

Hey all, sorry I've been gone for so long.  This winter I went to a new unit at work, and am working full time.  I also just became a father to a wonderful 4 year old boy!  As far as the Square goes, I am working on wetsanding the paint, and getting closer to building the engine.  I pulled the rods off the crank Saturday, now I just need some help with a torch to change the bearing...  the it'll be time to build the short block!   ;)

that is Bin' about your newest addition the man!

its good that you are keeping with it, now you can teach someone while you work.
The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

Well, I am about ready to build the short block, just need some know-how.  The wet sanding is continuing slowly. Dad-Land is a place of reduced time I am discovering!   :o
