It is good to see you have stayed the course and are moving forward with the project.

The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

I put all the credit on the deal that John gave me on a case.  Had it not been for that, there's no way I could have moved forward.  I've got a 1600 to put together and hopefully sell, as well as a single relief 1600 short block that I may refurbish into a complete engine with the various nick nacks I have sitting around, but we'll see.  It's all a recycling process to further finance this mania that is VWs. lol

I haven't done squat since getting the case from John... lol.  I still have a 1600 that I need to get put back together and hopefully sold down the road so I can clear out some working space... then need to yank the motor out of the '70 and tear it down.  Been more preoccupied with non-VW stuff as of late.

Not too much of an update, but my new case has been boxed up and shipped off to VW Paradise; they should take delivery of it this week.  2017 is still in the car, and I believe the snow is slated to fly here in high desert eastern Oregon this week, so not sure when I'll yank it out and tear it down.
