I would like to offer up my services for car stereo install. From easy to some custom stuff just let me know and we can talk stuff over. I get very good pricing on new product or sometimes have stuff laying around my house that needs a new home. I dont charge much, it is just a hobby of mine, i could be interested in trades for something perhaps. I like to do the work at my house tho i can be some what mobile.

If there is any interest at all please let me know. Im just looking for some side work to help pay to get my bug back

ok the next week, last week in october, they graced me with another goverment paid vacation... ::)....so im really hurting/looking for work as i have half the income i usually do so im really dieing for some work... if you have EVER had the thought of doing some stereo work in your car LET ME KNOW i will get you the best WARRANTE'D price in town and stand behind all my labor and instal, if it dont work i bust my ass till it does.

The rate they give me at stereo king is almost 80 bucks for a deck and couple speaker instal for labor. i will work a car for 25 bucks for the same or if you have a decent project 50$ for a full day. those just give you an idea. price can be adjusted down as i see fit but will never go up for this week

Please let me know. reply here or my contact info is in the contact thread..

thanks

Hey Jeff,
I may have a project for ya...I got a brand new Pioneer deck with the Super when I bought it; already have it wired but it don't fit so good in the hole made by the PO. Need a clever design fit to get it to fit right...plus, no iPod/auxillery port on the deck. Would really like a different deck but free is hard to argue with, so I was thinking about one of those iPod controllers...
Anyway, if your free this Saturday I am having a shop day and you could come by and take a look at the stereo issue and let me know what kind of magic you could work...?

 ;D

ask and you shall receive.

here are your options. first if you can get me the model of the deck you currently have that would be a great help so i can figure out what it is i am working with.

i pod controler is nice but depending on the deck it might be a 25$ cable or a 70$ish control box. if the later i recomend deck upgrade.

I know that kicker has a nice fairly inexpensive cd deck that has a usb and a headphone jack input on the front and through your standard ipod usb cable just plugs in, charges (i think) and plays with control through the deck. it was around 160 or so i believe, maybe a tad less. also for a touch more you can go with alpine who's ipod control is somewhat simpler.

as far as fit in the hole is, i can take a look, wont have ideas till i see what im working with but maybe a filler panel or new trim ring or something along those lines maybe in order.

ill deff stop by sat

I'll check the model number later...
I LOVED my old Alpine with the KDC cable and how the deck controlled the iPod.
Pretty sure that I would have to use a control box, but who knows, it does have a SIRIUS control input on the deck
Anywho, any input is appreciated, I'll check the model number when I get home  ;)

Did you build that box you setup and sold to Steve? If you built it, I would be interested in having you build one for me(minus the speakers). I don't have much wood working room these days and really want a box to replace the speaker tray that came with the car. ;) Same setup as the other one; holes for 2 6"x9"s and a 10". I don't know how soon I would have finances to do this, but once I get the Super running right then I would like to move on to this BEFORE I start dumping money into building the 1776 and rebuilding the suspension, and then disk brakes, and new tires, and a new shifter... ;D

Jeff, I will give you a call to plan something. I would need the box and a sub. I have a 200w MTX amp hanging out in the garage, and I currently have my Orion 6x9s in the car. Still need to mount the radio as well. Hey, if I can't get the car to run good at least I can make it sound good, right? :D

just wanted to update that i got a new place and the garage will now be dedicated. I am free to do any audio work you may want/need. just let me know what your idea is and we can work out prices. I am the cheepest on labor and stereo equipment you will find. I can usually beat crutchfield online prices easily ;D

I found it! (your post) Maybe post up some pics of the work you are doing for Russ so we can keep it relevant here?

My current tray already is cut for the 5 1/2" speakers with the speakers installed. What kind of deal can you get on the 6x9's?

This is what my tray currently looks like.

I would like it redone in the black vinyl I think. So when I'm ready I will go find some and drop you a text to get scheduled  :2up:

It might be finesseable. I have not really pulled it out and looked to see if it can be wrapped around again.

Let me know what you can get some 6x9's for and we will go from there if you can fix that and mount in the 6x9's.
