Who knew that a cheap little car designed for the masses at the whim of an evil dictator could be so very cool more than 6 decades later?

Re: Tow bar
Just about passed out from the fumes this morning taking to the alignment shop; discovered the filler tube was a bit moist so will pick up one of those nifty repair kits
went out last night to see why trun signals stopped working and found a blown fuse, so eagerly replaced it...then watched the smoke start billowing form the dash! Popped the hood, removed the dash cover panel and low a behold the vent blower moter WAS still there but fried, solving the burning smell mystery :D
Can't to finally get a chance this weekend to really get into things and see whats really going on with this car. Would like to get in on the Beach Cruise but really need to get this thing safe to drive(carpooling is getting tiresome), plus I promised the chitlins we would go to the Beaverton Parade on Saturday
Will change my avatar when I get a better pic of the drivers side. Had some really good pics and then downloaded to the puter, went to get them and were magically gone...(damn gremlins)

Re: Tow bar
i told you about those pesky dash blowers makin'em stinky.
i still need to clean out the vent box as they plug with gra-due over time and then short out the blower vewnt motor. it will also allow water into the cabin and get you rfeet all wet while you drive. or better yet when you opewn the dash vents it will dribble all over your new radio and down into the fuse box causing all kinds of heck.

Re: Tow bar
The plan is to have it stripped down and ready for new parts by Saturday night so can put the new parts on Sunday, therefore not planning on having it driveable on Sunday. Otherwise hell yeah I'd cruise on over! Let me get 'er driveable and then I will venture it out into the real world for all to enjoy :)

I figured since it wasn't being used I'd try it on
Re: Tow bar
I realize this is a late post to this here story but I just noticed the pulling thing. If your car pulls when you presses the brakes Given that you have new brakes) it's your adjustment. Adjust them so they are just slightly(And I do mean slightly) dragging and your pull will be gone. back then alllllthe way off then tighten them all the way one at a time. When the wheel will no longer spin back off three, try that(remember your looking for a slight drag).
Of course they could have just put the brakes on wrong but I doubt that.

Re: Tow bar
well after noticing that the PO added about a quart and a half too much oil, I think I will replace the whole front break assembly just to be safe :D then I can only blame myself if it still aint fixed ::)

Re: Tow bar
Kev's thread about naming his car had me thinking that your cars name is gonna be "tow bar" as that is the name of your cars thread....
not that it will be using the RCV Super Tow Bar or anything it just seems that this is your cars new thread.
