I mentioned this event last year. My friend is the event coordinator for that club. I plan on going to this show because my friend always makes the trip down here for the Portland/Woodburn shows.

Bob, Charlotte and Michael plan on going to this event with Flowerpower.  We plan on starting out at the Chevron Station in Troutdale no later than 11:30am on Friday 10-02-09.  If anyone else wants to cruise with us, give me a call at home and leave a msg 503-982-2449, or just meet us at the Troutdale Chevron Friday!  :D

Glad to hear some of you are coming over... rally up and get a larger train.  I think this is going to be one of the larger VW shows... both water and air.... in the NW.  See you there..   PS I think there are like 56 Beer Stein Trophies.  Try something new and make the cruise over we would love to have you.

FYI  The cruise night is on Friday and the location is Rosy's Diner near the show location and across from the host hotel.  Sounds like the turnout is going to be great.  Get your crew on the way.

We REALLY wanted to make it to this show, but my Mom is leaving for the next several months so we have to spend time with them. I even tried to get them to leave a week later....no go, they want to get to Arizona before the rain and snow. Next year we will make it for sure!

Hey Toaster girl, where in Arizona?  My folks live down in Lake Havasu City.
Who knew that a cheap little car designed for the masses at the whim of an evil dictator could be so very cool more than 6 decades later?

just south of Lake Havasu in Parker. They live there several months a year and then travel around the country for a bit and then come back to Oregon to visit ME (and my sister and her grandchildren. OH and they are pretty fond of that TotallyVW fella too).

i would like to go, but that is just too far for our budget to allow.  My wife can't afford to take the time off work and we really can't afford the gas, or the hotel stay.  Bummer.  Should be fun.

FYI, everyone, this was a great show in a beautiful location on the Columbia River.  All on a vast expanse of lawn and the rain held off until we wrapped it up around 4pm.  FlowerPower's starter wire came off on the road over and we were push starting her till Dorian came to the rescue and crawled under and hooked it back up.  Thank you my hero!!  Sat under my new awning off of the bug and face painted all day.  I loved the chalk board VW bus they had, plus lots of fun for the kiddos.  Great show all around!
