Who's up for a caravan North to Spring Meet on Sunday, May 20th?  The Plan:  Meet in the parking lot of Safeway in Jantzen Beach at 0630 and blast up I-5 as a group.

Gosh I'm not sure Hans could make it up there! Is it an up and back in the same day kind of thing? Is there a tow rig coming? LOL!
Could we schedule regular stops for oil top-offs? (I blow oil out my case breather as a normal function of the engine...)

It is an up-and-back type of thing.  How far can you go before you need to top off?  Shouldn't be a huge issue stopping a couple of times. We did not plan on a tow vehicle but we can ask:  Anyone heading up there in a truck or SUV w/hitch?

Addendum... the little voice in my head says that as much as I would like to run Hans on a LONG out-of-towner like that, it would be an unecessary risk until I can put a new engine in or get a ring job done.  :(

Well Mark, It looks as if it's just you and I again. I have a D&M shirt you can borrow :-) The WC guys are going up Sat. Night so I don't think we even have to make a stop at Gee Creek, and since I am on your way you might as well just stop by here and we can leave directly :?: I'll have some good strong coffee a brewin.

The worst performance mod is whatever you're limited to because you convinced yourself (or others) that anything bigger or faster was too extreme for a street car.

CHANGE OF PLANS!!! We were going to meet at Aloha Station to travel to the Spring Meet. BUT! We picked up a couple Dubs for the Caravan. So we are now meeting at the Beaverton Starbucks (The 24 hour one at Fred Meyers) at  6:15 am Traveling to The Gee Creek Rest stop to hopefully pick up a few others leaving at 7AM. Mark I'll still meet you at Aloha station at the new time, I'll call you and confirm this.

So Aloha Station at 6:00 then?  It'll take us 15 minutes to get to Starbucks (maybe faster at that hour).  Sounds good.

P.S.  I may be the only air-cooler in this run, but don't think you'll be losing me.  I've got the Black Car's engine and tranny so look out!

Not a bad show for changing locations.  It was about 30 minutes further than Puyallup.  Half the swap meet was out doors (I think that became an issue at about 3PM when it started raining like the dickens) and the car show was light.  Todd brought along a BBQ and some burgers and we ate like kings (well, kings with burgers anyway).  We met up with a bunch of the Friday Night Les Schwabbers for the drive which was fun.  They were a pretty cool group and I look forward to hanging out with them some through out the summer.  I picked up a few items of interest at the swap and passed on some interesting junk (still looking for a tow hitch for my Bug).

I will be heading to Sacramento on Friday so will miss out on the next Friday nighter at Les Schwab and the Water Cooled engine pull.  I am not racing, just spectating this time.
