Hello all Volkswagen enthusiasts! It's that time of year where you want to make that one last trip to the beach to capture a little more of that summary feeling. Kid are back in school the days are getting short but your just not ready to let it go. Well then come join us as we head to the beach for some fun in the Oregon sun. Be it liquid or UV we can enjoy the coast.

We will meet at the North Plans Chevron 10025 NW Glencoe Rd, North Plains, Oregon and depart around 10:00 am. Our destination is a beach just north of Gearhart (North of Seaside). There is car access to the beach and Parking directly off Highlands Road.

Planned route to the destination

In case that Highland road access is nasty like last year you can also gain beach access by going back south to Gearhart Loop then to 10th. Other access a little further south is Pacific Way directly through Gearhart.

Bring you kites picnic stuff or what ever it is you like to do on the beach.

I hope to see a lot of friends and new faces along for the fun.

We'll be there as long as the weather is not wet.  I think fall has come a bit early this year.  Will probably bring our weiner-chews because they love the beach and got along so well with Willie at the camp out.

Perfect Flower Power because my wife will be bringing the mutt an it will need some play mates :)

I can tell you though rain or shine the beach is a great place. to be honest rain is best, not too many people out then. Guest they just don't under stand how to live in the Northwest.

I'll be there rain or shine. But it is going to be a long driven weekend. I have to head down south to pick up my girlfriend down in Roseburg Oregon on Friday and then get back up here Friday night. It is located roughly 200 miles south of Portland for those not familiar with it. She will be moving up this way in the spring. But I dont want to wake up early saturday to pick her up and then meet up here at 10am to head to the coast.

We will be staying the night out there Saturday. Not sure if we are going to stay in a tent or not. Depends on if it rains or not. Ill stay in the tent rain or shine. But I think my girlfriend metls when it is wet out and may make us stay in a motel. Atleast i'll have internet there.

And to top if off I have to get her back home sometime Sunday before returning home.

We will try and go...I think that would be the furthest I have driven Frankie in one stretch, so it should be fun (and interesting).  that means I have to blow the dust off my kite!

I am ordering my new "custom" (orange to match car) seatbelts today but they take 3-4 weeks so I will have to see if I get them by then.  Until then only the drivers side works and it just barely works:-(  I want my wife to be able to come with me if I go.  Is the beach access good enough to get my car out there?
